More Clean of Texas is a commercial exterior maintenance company serving property managers, municipalities, and contractors across the Fort Worth area and beyond. Our fleet of sweepers, truck-mounted attenuators (TMAs), and support vehicles is the backbone of our operation, and we take pride in keeping every piece of equipment safe, reliable, and road-ready.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of all company vehicles and equipment, including street sweepers, TMAs, and support vehicles. This role works directly with the DFW Operations Manager or Vice President to keep the fleet running at full capacity and to minimize equipment-related downtime.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on all fleet vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, belt and hose inspections, and tire service
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on sweepers, TMAs, and other vehicles; complete repairs in a timely manner
  • Inspect all vehicles and equipment for safety defects, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards; document findings and corrective actions
  • Operate company vehicles as needed for testing, delivery, or repositioning (requires approved MVR)
  • Maintain the shop and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition; report hazards or safety concerns to the DFW Operations Manager or Vice President
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, parts suppliers, and service providers when repairs require specialized equipment or expertise
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance performed, parts used, and equipment status using company systems such as Fleetio and Samsara
  • Order parts and shop supplies following company approval procedures; monitor parts inventory and flag restocking needs
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for the full fleet
  • Support the onboarding of new equipment by completing pre-service inspections and setup
  • Wear all required PPE and follow all safety protocols at all times
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Work cooperatively with drivers, supervisors, and other staff to minimize operational disruption
  • Work outdoors and in varied weather conditions as required by the role
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as directed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic working on commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, or fleet operations; experience with sweepers or specialty vehicles a plus
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test
  • Proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to follow both written and oral instructions and to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work location
  • Basic computer or tablet proficiency for accessing work orders, parts systems, and company communication
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, reach overhead, and use hands and fingers for fine and gross motor tasks. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and push or pull up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Extended periods of work in a shop environment, outdoors, and under or around vehicles are to be expected.
